Named User Plus Licensing Can be Tricky
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oracle Named User Plus licensing can be tricky. When licensing by Oracle's Named User Plus metric there are several things to consider. Among the most important are:
- What is your actual usage of each program?
- Where each program is installed or enabled?
- What are the various rules surrounding these licenses?
Perhaps the most commonly misunderstand situation is licensing to cover non-production environments e.g. development, test, archive, etc. It is here we find enterprises have either over licensed -which means you're overspending- or have under licensed -which means you're out of license compliance.
With respect to being out of license compliance, it's important to realize that SOX regulations hold your most senior executives responsible for license compliance. That's true, as SOX is not just about reporting your financial correctly, it's also about attesting that your enterprise is in compliance with copyright, trademark and otherwise intellectual property rights.
This webinar is intended for IT managers and managers of the functional areas which are interested in implementing a process that optimizes and manages the Oracle Apps patching processes, thereby reducing the associated risks of applying, or not applying, change to their Oracle Apps.
